The Google Penguin Update… Who Does This Recent Update Effect?
There can be a lot of discussions about the recent Google Penguin search engines upgrade since it released 30 days ago, and a lot of website owners are still digging through the stones in an all out effort to learn if and/or why their websites were negatively affected by the Penguin Update. Adjoining the Penguin update, there were two Panda renovations within the last 30 days, and at least 50 other Google algorithm alterations, that Google also has listed within the past couple of weeks.

Rand Fishkin CEO of SEOmoz informs WebProNews, The Google Penguin update has done an awesome job of delivering a reality check to a lot of people who never expected the delegates at Google to take such proficient, combative & anti-maneuverable movement. The Google Penguin Update actually creates a more level SEO and organic internet marketing playing field. I don’t think the punishment is actually as severe as Google typically imposes for most serious algorithm violations. Said Fishkin… (lots of Google queries that look very unusual or obviously got more intense, and a lot of websites that probably shouldn’t have been effected by the Google Penguin Update).”
The Google Penguin Update is also in place to attack internet spam at the source
Fishkin recently published a new video talking about the Google Penguin update this video can be extremely valuable once viewed in it’s entirety, particularly if you have been impacted by the Google Penguin Upgrade. There are six details he talks about, but the most relevant one in particular in my opinion, is that there are a lot of websites in the internet marketing sector that appear to have been negatively impacted by the recent Google Penguin update.
Fishkin says, “There seems to be a very excessive number of websites in the marketing/services area suffering from this Google Penguin Update. For example, we’ve learned that more individuals query key terms like, ‘seo solutions,’ ‘seo organization, followed by some particular town name’, or ‘web style solutions, followed by some particular town name’. The websites that Google returns for those kinds of search queries seem to be intensely impacted by the Google Penguin Update.”
“Now, here are some elements that I think may be responsible here,” he carries on. “First Off: a lot of individuals who work in these promotion solutions service sectors are also likely to have a lot of collaboration with the individuals who are possibly getting the types of link trash to their websites that Google impacted in this Google Penguin Upgrade. In fact, it’s not definitive [that] the Google Penguin Update targeted these particular sites or search queries. It could be that the recent Google Penguin Update targeted internet spam and the black-hat or non related backlinks that these individuals had just occurred to be associated, correlated and linked. A different element is, this could be nothing but a major indicator… We’re apparently in the organic promotion and SEO arena, so it could be that we’re just getting an excessive variety of those types of people discussing it in Q&A, posting, linking to us on facebook and other social media sites, web 2.0 sites and tweeting at us…and things of that nature.
“These things are also possible, though usually we see more stability across the panel, generally,” Says Fishkin.
Beyond the obviously spam-heavy subjects, like working from home and medication, we’d be fascinated to learn more about the different types of websites that have been affected most by this Google Penguin Update.
